I took the opportunity to lead the planning of The Living Desert's inaugural Glow with Pride event. This involved coordinating with local community members and collaborating with Cheeky Charity to secure proclamations from the city of Palm Desert, officially recognizing March as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Given the significance of this event, we prioritized engaging the local LGBTQIA+ community from the Coachella Valley, which holds a special place in my heart as someone who was born and raised. To amplify the event's impact, we extended invitations to organizations to participate and share valuable information.
Additionally, attendees were invited to dance the night away with DJ Mod Girl or enjoy the silent disco with a pair of headsets. I saw an opportunity to organize an event filled with love and wanted to make the most of it.
City of Palm Desert Mayor and Cheeky Charity
As a sponsor for our night, Cheeky Charity was honored with a proclamation declaring March as Colorectal Cancer Awareness month at the beginning of the night. It was important for me to share out platform to help spread awareness on our health as humans especially something like colorectal cancer.
